strauss ideation Muta Imago | video Lorenzo Letizia | thanks to Greccio Struzzi S.r.l. Strauss is a site-specific project. It was born during the White Night 2007 in Rome, but it changes anytime it’s made. It’s an interactive video-installation. It requires a pit full of water, five inches of fog, something to hide, a small videoprojection and a lot of curious people. ![]() From the paper of White Night ’07 The water will be the main window, the acces to a world that doesn’t exist anymore: a lynchanian blue box that shows and subverts: on its surface the oysters, alive as once they were, will peep out. But only if they will; if someone will throw them some food. The food that will make the vision possible will be the chemical reaction between water and carbon dioxide in solid state: from this reaction, a thin, white, low fog will spring. The traces of this old world will be fragile and changing in this new life: they will react to the pysical presence of visitors that through their breaths, their movements, their whiffs will be able to draw the images on the water, or to destroy them at all, in order to discover the secret that is hiding at the bottom of the pit. |
